Janina Ruh is the winner of the SWR New Talent competition and is indeed an extraordinary artist, because she is a double talent. She is not only a promising virtuoso of the cello, but also an excellent soprano.
Although double talents are not so rare (one thinks, for example, of Julia Fischer, who in addition to her career as a violin virtuoso also gives piano concertos again and again), nowadays one is initially skeptical: Can an artist serve 'two gods'? Can she be equally good and equally professional in both areas?
