Young Norwegian Matre (b. 1979) was composer-in-residence with Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra for the 2006-2008 seasons, and in the 2012-2013 season selected by the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra as their featured composer. He is a distinct voice of the Norwegian music and has been awarded high-profile commissions by leading perfor-mers, ensembles and orchestras. The SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, which performs the present recording, was founded in 1946 and is one of the leading international ensembles specialized in the vocal music of the 20th and 21st centuries.
