Stéphane Denève‘s Ravel cycle continues to take shape. In this second installment of the complete orchestral music we hear the ballet version of 'Ma Mère l'Oye', the early Overture to 'Shéhérazade', 'Une barque sur l'ocean', 'Menuet antique' and 'Fanfare pour L'Éventail de Jeanne'.

Once again Denève proves that he possesses all the requisite sensitivity as a conductor, and when matched with an orchestra of this caliber, the results bring out all the magic and kaleidoscopic orchestral color.

Denève and the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra (SWR) are a dream team in this music and even a show that even after a hundred years, Ravel’s scores have not lost their bloom.
