Well-known German folk songs and Edvard Grieg's immortal melodies are given resounding performances by a line-up of choir and big band – and it all adds up to much more than mere arrangements. Well-known jazz musicians and arrangers took up the challenge to make a unique blend of two completely different ensembles in unusual pieces. The result is more than crossover: the big band's special, rhythmic energy unites with soaring folk song melodies, resulting in a completely new sound and highlighting the outstanding abilities of both ensembles.
